Holiday Brisket

Ingredients

8 Servings
Sauce
6 ozcan Pastene Tomato Paste
1/4 cuphoney, or agave
1/2 cupwhite vinegar
1/4 cupwater
1 tspsugar
3/4 tspsalt
1/4 tsponion powder
1/8 tspgarlic powder
Brisket
3stalks celery, chopped
3large carrots, chopped
3large potatoes, cubed
1 tsppaprika
1large brisket
salt & pepper

Directions

Sauce:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat; whisk until smooth
  • When it comes to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often
  • Remove from heat and uncover until cool

Brisket:

  • Put in large pot saut√© onions and garlic on the bottom
  • Sear brisket on both sides,
  • Add water halfway up then add sauce
  • Add paprika, salt and pepper
  • Add chopped carrots and celery
  • Cook over low heat for proximately three hours.
  • Serve with carrots, celery,¬† and potatoes (can be cooked in the same pot as brisket)
