Holiday Brisket


Serves 6-8
1 (6oz) canPastene Tomato Paste
¼ cuphoney, or agave
½ cupwhite vinegar
¼ cupwater
1 tspsugar
¾ tspsalt
¼ tsponion powder
⅛ tspgarlic powder
3-4 lbbeef brisket
5-8Pastene Deli Sliced Peperoncini, drained, optional
3stalks celery, chopped
3large carrots, chopped
3large potatoes, cubed
1 tsppaprika
salt & pepper



  • Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat; whisk until smooth
  • When it comes to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often
  • Remove from heat and uncover until cool. Set aside.


  • Put in large pot sauté onions and garlic on the bottom
  • Sear brisket on both sides,
  • Add water halfway up then add sauce
  • Add paprika, salt and pepper
  • Add chopped carrots and celery
  • Cook over low heat for proximately three hours.
  • Serve with carrots, celery,  and potatoes (can be cooked in the same pot as brisket)
