1 lb | ground Beef or Turkey | |
1 | large onion, chopped | |
2 tsp | minced garlic | |
3 tbsp | chili powder | |
1 tsp | cayenne pepper | |
1 28 oz can | Pastene Kitchen Ready Pasta Sauce | |
2 cans | Pastene Red or White kidney beans, drained | |
2 tbsp | light brown sugar | |

Directions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. When hot, add the ground turkey or beef, onion, salt, chili powder, and cayenne. Cook, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until the meat is no longer pink, 7 to 9 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 additional minute.
- Add 2 cups water, tomato sauce, kidney beans, and brown sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the chili thickens and the liquid reduces slightly, 1-2 hours. The chili tastes better the longer you let the flavors mingle.
- Top with cheddar cheese and Pastene Sliced Jalapenos and serve with corn tortilla chips!
