|1||large onion, chopped|
|2 tsp||minced garlic|
|3 tbsp||chili powder|
|1 tsp||cayenne pepper|
|1 28 oz can||Pastene Kitchen Ready Pasta Sauce|
|2 cans||Pastene Red or White kidney beans, drained|
|2 tbsp||light brown sugar|
|Pastene Jalapeno Peppers|
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. When hot, add the ground turkey or beef, onion, salt, chili powder, and cayenne. Cook, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until the meat is no longer pink, 7 to 9 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 additional minute.
- Add 2 cups water, tomato sauce, kidney beans, and brown sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the chili thickens and the liquid reduces slightly, 1-2 hours. The chili tastes better the longer you let the flavors mingle.
- Top with cheddar cheese and Pastene Sliced Jalapenos and serve with corn tortilla chips!
