|1 (28 ounce) can||Pastene Kitchen Ready Tomatoes|
|½ (6 ounce) can||Pastene Tomato Paste|
|1 Tbsp||Pastene Minced Garlic|
|1 cup||vegetable stock|
|1 cup||chicken stock|
|⅓ cup||red onion, diced|
|fresh basil, for garnish|
|½ tsp||black pepper|
- Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Remove from heat and let cool. Puree, in batches if necessary, in blender or food processor.
- Return to pan and simmer another 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve in a shallow bowl and garnish with basil if desired.
