Ingredients
1 | 14 oz can Pastene Chickpeas, rinsed and drained | |
½ cup | chopped sweet onion | |
⅓ cup | Pastene Grated Parmesan Cheese | |
1 | large egg | |
4-6 | large fresh basil leaves, julienned, plus more for serving | |
3 tsp | Pastene Minced Garlic | |
¼ tsp | fine sea salt | |
¼ tsp | pepper | |
1 cup | Pastene Plain Breadcrumbs, divided | |

1 | 16 oz jar Autentico Harvest Vegetable Sauce for dipping |
Directions
- Place first 8 ingredients in a food processor and then add ⅓ cup breadcrumbs. Pulse until combined but still roughly chopped.
- Shape into 1 ½” balls. Place remaining ⅔ cup breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. Gently roll the balls in the breadcrumbs to coat.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F. In batches, place balls in a single layer in greased air fryer; spritz with cooking spray. Cook until golden brown, 11 to 13 minutes.
- Serve with warm dipping sauce and top with additional fresh basil.
