Air Fryer Chickpea Balls


1 14 oz can Pastene Chickpeas, rinsed and drained
½ cup chopped sweet onion
⅓ cup Pastene Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 large egg
4-6 large fresh basil leaves, julienned, plus more for serving
3 tsp Pastene Minced Garlic
¼ tsp fine sea salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 cup Pastene Plain Breadcrumbs, divided
cooking spray
1 16 oz jar Autentico Harvest Vegetable Sauce for dipping


  • Place first 8 ingredients in a food processor and then add ⅓ cup breadcrumbs. Pulse until combined but still roughly chopped.
  • Shape into 1 ½” balls. Place remaining ⅔ cup breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. Gently roll the balls in the breadcrumbs to coat.
  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F. In batches, place balls in a single layer in greased air fryer; spritz with cooking spray. Cook until golden brown, 11 to 13 minutes.
  • Serve with warm dipping sauce and top with additional fresh basil.
