Old-Fashioned Tomato Soup


Serves 4-6
1 (28 ounce) canPastene Kitchen Ready Tomatoes
½ (6 ounce) canPastene Tomato Paste
1 TbspPastene Minced Garlic
1 cupvegetable stock
1 cupchicken stock
⅓ cupred onion, diced
fresh basil, for garnish
½ tspsalt
½ tspblack pepper


  • Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Remove from heat and let cool. Puree, in batches if necessary, in blender or food processor.
  • Return to pan and simmer another 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve in a shallow bowl and garnish with basil if desired.
