Tonno Tomato Sauce


Serves 4
3-4 TbspPastene Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1medium onion, chopped
1 canPastene Kitchen Ready Chunky Style Tomatoes
2 tspPastene Minced Garlic
1/4 tsptsp dried oregano
2 3oz cansPastene Tonno in Olive Oil, drained, flaked
¼ cupPastene Sliced Ripe Olives, with some juice
1 TbspPastene Capers, with some juice 1 lemon, juiced
1 bagPastene Pasta of your choice
1 1/2 lbsPastene Parmesan Cheese for topping
salt and pepper


  • Heat oil in a medium heavy saucepan and cook onion and garlic just until tender.
  • Add tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper to taste and simmer over low heat for about ten minutes, or until blended and hot.
  • Add the tuna, olives, capers, and lemon juice simmer a little longer to thicken the sauce.
  • Serve on top of pasta of choice and add sprinkles of cheese to complete your dish.
